Darren & Beth-
Katie and Considering Canines has been a revelation! We rescued a young dog who was a real handful to the point we were considering giving him back. But Katie gave the dog (and us!) the tools to move forward and the dog has been improving ever since! Katie is the best trainer I have ever employed or even heard of! I can't recommend her enough!
As a novice dog owner we picked up
our puppy Rolo in December and through a friends recommendation we contacted Katie. We were fortunate to squeeze in a couple of outside sessions before things shutdown. Since then we have been doing our weekly sessions via Skype, these have been invaluable. Katie has been great and very patient walking us through each session on various training aspects. It has given us the confidence in handling and training that we needed. Our Rolo loves seeing Katie on Skype and is always very well behaved in our sessions. A wonderful trainer x
Katie has been there since before we got our Labrador puppy and now he’s six months. Her presence has been hugely reassuring from the start. We knew we wanted a positive approach to training and that Katie shared this philosophy. Katie’s sessions are extremely helpful and we’ve been given so many tips we use every day. What I also love about her is that she is literally always there! When I messaged in a panic about the hard work we had taken on, she started weekly longer walks with our pup to give us a bit of respite. He always came back a content little puppy. And she was there to make suggestions when I had another meltdown a few weeks later...puppies are hard work! We can’t wait to resume our one to one sessions once lockdown is over and most importantly, Harry goes absolutely crazy with excitement when he sees her.
We have been training with Katie in 1:1 sessions for around 8 weeks, my 5 month old puppy has developed great recall and loose lead walking capabilities in this short time.
Katie is always there at the end of the phone and has helped me work through some of the difficult puppy behaviours in a gentle and rewarding way.
If you are looking for an experienced, friendly and truly enthusiastic trainer I would highly recommend Katie.
We have been training with Katie since our Cocker Spaniel was 3 months old. He is now 5 months and has absolutely thrived on the training. Katie makes it really fun and gives lots of easy to follow tips that really help you to make progress with the puppy in a gentle way that the puppies love. Since the current lockdown started we have done sessions via Skype, and they have been just as brilliant at the 1:1 sessions in person. It has actually been really useful having Katie be able to see our puppy at home and the sorts of issues we have there to work on. I feel very excited after each session to get working with my puppy, as I know that we will be making lots of positive progress almost immediately.
Katie then provides a write up and videos of things to work on and you can chat to her on Whatsapp whenever you like about your progress. This has been absolutely invaluable and I can’t thank her enough for giving us all a great start as new puppy owners. It has definitely been an investment worth making for us.
I would strongly recommend Katie. She has been great with my 6 month old Cavapoo puppy Hugo. She explains things very well and makes the training for the both of us very fun. Hugo loves it. If you want your dog properly trained off the lead, then Katie is the best trainer for it. She is great.
We were recommended Katie via Adam, Pip and Luna and we couldn't be happier to have her to teach Fig and us! Due to lockdown Katie was quick to arrange virtual 1:1 classes. The class was easy to setup and we are now starting socially distanced lessons outside which is great.
Katie’s classes have been fantastic and we really enjoy the positivity she brings. Training has been a mix of games and techniques that are specific to our situation in addition to core stuff we need to do. Everything is broken down and understandable. Katie’s notes and follow ups help us know what to focus on each week. Fig is responding so well to all the training, and we appreciate all the follow on support from Katie.
Considering Canines offers a personable service and the high level of communication between lessons was not something we were expecting! We are very happy with the passion, responsiveness and knowledge Katie brings to dog training, we are so much more confident in what we are doing!
We have been having 1:1 sessions with Katie to help us with our new puppy Luna and she has been an incredible teacher for both Luna and us as first time puppy owners. Her teaching style is really fun and easy to follow and Luna has come on leaps and bounds since we started our training with her. We love Katie’s approach to positive reinforcement as it builds a wonderful relationship between dog and owner and we are so happy that we found Katie to help us on our journey. We have had a fantastic experience with Considering Canines and highly recommend them to anyone wanting to have a great relationship with their dog.
Katie is a fantastic trainer. She can tailor sessions to whatever issues that you would like to address and her friendly and relaxed approach puts both me and my Vizsla, Millie, at ease. We have been provided with lots of strategies to help Millie with her recall, over excitement and arousal around other dogs and people and feel that we can make mistakes, that no question is too silly to ask and make progress at our own pace. Follow up is excellent with written notes if desired and Katie is always on hand if I have any queries or issues between sessions. Millie is definitely still a work in progress, but I feel that, with Katie's guidance and training, we will get where we want to be in the end!
Katie is without a doubt the best dog trainer I've used and we've been through our share! Katie had Maggie and I sussed within the first few minutes of our session, and with her excellent video visual training videos, excellent 1-1 sessions she made training make sense. I can now confidently walk my energetic Jack Russell off-lead which is something I never thought we'd ever achieve and we've learnt lots of new tricks to keep Maggie stimulated and happy. Katie is incredibly patient, gives lots of manageable tips and tailors it to your dog rather than generic advice. My only regret is not finding her sooner!
